Introduction to conventional design of sub tank and mother tank

The pressure used to determine the thickness of the pressure parts of the inner container at the corresponding design temperature, including the static pressure of the liquid column. Because the volume of the inner container of the sub master tank is usually large and its liquid level is high, it is necessary to judge whether the inner container cylinder needs to be designed in sections in combination with the value of the design pressure. The value of the calculated pressure of the upper and lower cylinders is determined by the design pressure and the static pressure of the liquid column borne by the cylinder in this section. On the premise of meeting the design thickness of the upper cylinder, the height of the lower cylinder should be an integral multiple of the steel plate width.

Sub master tank refers to the storage tank in which multiple (three or more) inner containers (sub tanks) containing media are connected in parallel and placed in the outer container (Master tank) filled with thermal insulation materials according to a certain arrangement. It is generally designed and built to adapt to large volume and pressurized storage.

working pressure:

High gauge pressure that may be reached at the top of the inner container under normal working conditions. Since the liquid pressure produced by the natural gas liquefaction unit is usually between 0.3MPa and 0.4MPa, generally, the working pressure of the inner container of the LNG sub master tank is also within this range. Of course, when the user makes clear provisions on the working pressure, it shall follow the user's requirements.
