Key points for safe use of cryogenic liquid storage tank

The main function of cryogenic liquid storage tank is to fill and store cryogenic liquid. For the safe use requirements of low-temperature liquid storage tank, the gas hazard characteristics, low-temperature protection effect, surrounding environmental conditions, pressure vessel characteristics, etc. shall be fully considered, and corresponding technical management measures shall be taken to ensure safe operation.

1. Operators of cryogenic liquid storage tank:

Understand the structural characteristics of the equipment and its pipe valve system in detail, be familiar with the dangerous characteristics of low-temperature liquid, strictly control the surrounding environmental conditions, and operate according to the safe operation procedures of low-temperature liquid storage tank. Operators must be trained and qualified by the quality and technical supervision department at or above the prefecture level, and hold the pressure vessel operation qualification certificate before they can work. Take labor protection measures according to the regulations before operation.

2. Rules for use of cryogenic liquid storage tank:

For the use of cryogenic liquid storage tanks, the safety rules for the use of cryogenic liquid storage and transportation equipment (jb6898-1997) shall be strictly implemented, and the daily safety management shall be strengthened. When storing cryogenic liquid, the filling rate shall not be greater than 0.95, and excessive filling is strictly prohibited. Before the cryogenic liquid storage tank is put into use, it shall be ensured that the container is in good sealing condition, various accessories (including valves, instruments and safety devices) are complete, effective, sensitive and reliable, the pipeline material is selected appropriately, and the interior of the system is dry and free of oil stain.

3. Patrol inspection of cryogenic liquid storage tank:

During the normal use of cryogenic liquid storage tank, special personnel shall be responsible for patrol inspection. Check that the pressure of the inner container shall not exceed the maximum working pressure of the storage tank. In case of overpressure, pressure relief measures shall be taken. Check the status and leakage of each valve. If there is any abnormality or leakage, timely take treatment measures and properly correct the abnormality.

4. Regular inspection of warm liquid storage tank:

Regularly check the vacuum degree in the jacket of cryogenic liquid storage tank. If the vacuum degree deteriorates, supplementary vacuum pumping measures shall be taken (the vacuum pumping of storage tank shall be implemented by a professional unit or the original manufacturer).

5. The cryogenic liquid storage tank shall be inspected regularly:

Cryogenic liquid storage tank is a special equipment subject to national mandatory safety supervision and is listed as class III pressure vessel, which shall be inspected regularly according to relevant national technical specifications. The safety accessories of the storage tank shall also be inspected regularly. Generally, the pressure gauge, liquid level gauge, safety valve and bursting disc device shall be calibrated or replaced at least once a year. In case of various faults of cryogenic liquid storage tank equipment and accessories, find out the causes at any time, make correct analysis and judgment, and take reasonable solutions to ensure its continuous normal operation and safe use.
